This event is to celebrate the BEST football teams in the history of Crescent Valley High School! Come be a part of this celebration! Players, famlies and guests FROM ALL FOOTBALL TEAMS are invited.

Cost: We do need to charge for this event this year due to the fact that our fundraisers did not bring in enough money this year to cover all of our expenses.

Fall Sports Awards Night Tomorrow AND Dec 5th

Kelly Gardner has posted some final thoughts and words of encouragement for the varsity team members as they prepare for their game on Friday. Kelly is encouraging team members to take a look at the “State Championship” document at the bottom of the Athlete Resources on the team website; www.cvraiderfootball.com. Football Practice Wednesday and Thursday

RAIDER NATION:

Tomorrow (Wedneday Nov 24th) IF THERE IS NO SCHOOL then practice will be at 11am at OSU Truax Center. IF THERE IS SCHOOL then practice will be at 6pm at OSU Truax Center.

On Thursday (yes...Thanksgiving Day) Team Walk-Thru will be at 10:15am for 1 hour at OSU Truax Center. PARENTS AND FAMILY ARE INVITED!!! Come enjoy some hot coffee and chocolate sponsored by Dutch Bros. Coffee. Walk Thru will be for 1 hour only. This is an important part of team preperation so all players need to attend.

Drive Safely to Practice Today!!!

Football practice is at 11am at the OSU Truax Center. Drive only if you feel it is safe to come. Everyone is encouraged to attend practices but please use your good judgement on whether it is safe for you to drive. Try carpooling with other parents if you live in the same neighborhood. Just be safe!

Semifinals Playoff Location Information IMPORTANT

The site for the semifinals against Marist has been determined.

When: 2pm Friday November 26th
Where: Willamette University McCulloch Stadium (Two blocks south of the main campus near Bush's Pasture Park.) 700 Mission St. SE., Salem Oregon
Cost: $8 for adults and $5 for students

Practice tomorrow (Monday Nov. 22) will be AT CHS from 4pm-6:15pm . The team is to meet in the CVHS locker room right after school before going to CHS.

Winningham Family Assistance Update

We are going to run a meal schedule for Paula and her family for one more week and then people can work directly with Paula to provide assistance after that. This holiday week is already proving to be difficult for Paula so some of her family and friends will contine to stay with her through Nov 29th, so we need to assist with food. Portions can be adjusted from 10 down to 5-6 for this next week.

Planning your week. Opportunities to Serve

As you are planning your week today, please remember two areas of need.

1. The Winningham Family. We have meals set up for them completey through Monday, however after that we have pleanty of need for more help. We need to support them at least through next week. There are about 10 family members/ close family friends staying at the house who need our support. Please use the web sign up or email me so that we do not overwhelm the family. They are very very touched and appreciative of your support, however this is a time of intense grief and we do need to respect their need for privacy. Winningham Family Food Info

Thank you to everyone who has delivered food and supplies to Paula and her family staying with her. The entire family wanted me to pass on how touched they are with your generosity.

Family will be staying through this week so we still have many opportunities to assist. Please use the website signup or email me to assist. This way we can stay coordinated and not overwhelm them with too much or too little.

3. Please plan on delivering breakfast either the night before, or by 9am. Lunch NLT 12:30, and dinner NLT 6:30pm.

5. If you cannot get ahold of the family, you can call me at 541-224-6612 and I can run over there. We live close.
6. I asked the family to be very specific with their needs so we can meet them.
7. Paula would like more fresh foods for herself, light things like soups, fruits, fresh veggies. Casseroles etc, are OK for the rest of the family. WES HATES CHEESE. :) The two grandmothers like Beringer White Zinfendel wine. An assortment of beer is good to.

Paul Winningham

It is with deep sadness that I need to let you know that Paul Winningham, Wes Winningham's father, died early this morning in his sleep. There are no details as to cause at this point in time. Your son's were briefed about this at practice so I wanted to make sure parents were aware as well.

Paula is surrounded by close friends and family at this point. She and her family will get information out as to the best way to show your love and support as their needs become more clear.

There will be a moment of silence for Paul at the game tomorrow. Please come out and show your support. Paul was a good friend, outstanding father and husband, and avid fan of Wes, and CV Sports.

The JV play AT JEFFERSON tomorrow at 4pm. The Freshmen play AT CV tomorrow at 4pm. The times listed on the website were incorrect as I did not know the times had changed. My apologies. The correct times are now listed.

Congrats Dual League Champs!

Great game against South Albany last night, the final league game for the season! The first playoff game for CV will be November 5th at 7pm AT CV against Marshfield.

RAIDER CARDS: We are asking that EVERY PLAYER sell AT LEAST 5 more Raider Cards in order for us to cover expenses this year. This is very important. This team is NOT fully funded by the school and only receives a fraction of the funding it needs. Your son's Raider Card Senior Team Leader has been given cards to hand out. Make sure your son has at least 5 cards. These must be sold and money returned at practice next Monday Sept. 20th. A great place to sell is at the OSU Tailgaters next weekend. Hit up family members too. It is good to wear Raider gear when selling so that people know you are with the team.

Wes and Kyle are fine.

Coach wants everyone to know that Wes Winningham is fine. He suffered a shoulder injury and in the interest of safety he was taken to the hospital for evalutation. He will be ready to play again in the CHS game!. Kyle Gardner took a hard hit and was taken out of the game as a precaution. He is fine also. The coaching staff will always error on the side of caution when it comes to player safety. Thank you to everyone for your well wishes and support.

Our Raiders fought hard and will be ready for the rest of the season! GO RAIDERS!!!

Last Chance for Free Custom Mouthguards

Dr. Kurt Black is providing custom fitted mouth guards to all CV Football Players. You must make an appointment in order to get one. Dr. Black's office has opened up September 3rd from 9am-noon for appointments.

Scrimmages, Bonfire, and Learning Center

Come out and cheer on the CV Raider Teams at their first scrimmages tomorrow morning. 9am JV and Freshmen, and 10am Varsity. Help launch the 2010 football season!

Our all teams bonfire and bbq is at 6pm at the home of Wayne and Luki Hammond tomorrow August 28th. Everything is provided so come out and catch CV Raider Feaver! Remember players, bring all money and unsold Raider Cards with you to the bonfire to turn in.

Mr. Kelly Gardner has prepared some motivational materials for parents and team members. They are now in the CV Raider Learning Center on our website at www.cvraiderfootball.com under LEARNING. Imagine Winning!

Parent to one of our players and Motivationalist Kelly Gardner has prepared a team affirmation and mental imaging course for our players and parents. This course and all associated material have been prepared specifically for Crescent Valley Football Players and their parents. This material is not to be shared, copied, or distributed in any manner without Mr. Gardners express written permission.

This material has been placed online in our new Raider Learning Center. You can get to it by going to the team website at www.cvraiderfootball.com and clicking on LEARNING at the top of the screen. The learning center will ask you to create an account. This is to protect the confidential material that Mr. Gardner has provided. This learning site will also allow you to interact with the material and each other by leaving comments and discussions of the material.

Kelly asks that each player and their parents review each of the three documents. Kelly will hold the first imaging session on Tuesday August 31st, with the team after practice. This will serve to prepare our team mentally for the game with Jefferson.

Friday (tomorrow) all teams will practice at 9am-11am. This is a change in time. Please make a note.

Come out Saturday morning at 9am at CV Raider Field and cheer on our Raiders during their opening scrimmage games! Freshmen and JV play at 9am and Varsity plays at 10am.

Our All Team Raider Football Bonfire is this Saturday, August 28th at 6pm at Wayne and Luki Hammond's home. Everything is provided so come out and help launch the 2010 CV Raider Football Season. The hammond's address is: 6955 NE Elliott Cir, Corvallis, OR 97330 There is a map on the Events Calendar at www.cvraiderfootball.com. Just click on the BBQ event and click on the map link. You can enter your own address and get a custom map.

IMPORTANT: Players need to bring any unsold Raider Cards with them to turn in at the Bonfire.

Sell those cards!!! This is our main fundraiser and your team needs these funds to pay for uniforms and other team expenses.

Wow! What a great Field Day! Over 56 parents came and pulled weeds, moved mountains of bark dust, cleaned the concessions stand, repaired gates, hung signs, cleaned yardage markers and so much more! Thank you! Without your generous donation of time and tools we would not have been able to get it all done! Raider Field looks great!

I also want to thank The Corvallis Clinic, Dr. Bryce Cleary, Dr. Dan Barrett and their staff for providing almost 200 free sports physicals today! What an amazing donation to Crescent Valley and community sports. If you get a chance please tell Dr. Cleary and Dr. Barrett thank you personally. They care deeply for their community and routinely give of their time to kids sports programs.

Field Day This Saturday! We Need Your Help!

Our field work day is this Saturday August 21st from 10am until the work is done. This year we need a LOT of help. With the cutbacks at the school district the football field is in worse shape than ever. We need every available parent to come and help on field say. Please bring rakes, hoes, shovels, and wheelbarrows.

Remember that free sports physicials will be provided by Corvallis Clinic's Dr. Bryce Cleary and Dr. Dan Barrett on this day as well. Please have your physical forms filled out before you arrive. IMPORTANT RAIDER CARD ANNOUNCEMENT

Parents and Players, Please be aware that Coach Sanders will be handing out a Raider Card “SALES SCRIPT” that ALL players are encouraged to learn.
The script is intended help them with their RAIDER CARD Sales Blitz on Saturday.

The script is designed to touch on several important areas that will help the players talk about the benefits of purchasing a Raider card and it
should help them sell cards easily and more quickly than if they would otherwise. We are sending these home TONIGHT (Thursday) with your son
so that they have some time to work on the wording and memorization. Please encourage your son to learn and use the script – we believe it will
help make the sales process easier and allow them to sell all their Raider Cards.

Players are not required to use the script “word for word” but they should use as much of the verbiage as possible.
Use of the script is OPTIONAL. However, the wording is designed to highlight support of Crescent Valley, High School Sports and Local Businesses.

Your support is greatly appreciated.

Our field work day is Saturday August 21st from 10am until the work is done. This year we need a LOT of help. With the cutbacks at the school district the football field is in worse shape than ever. We need every available parent to come and help on field say. Please bring rakes, hoes, shovels, and wheelbarrows.

Remember that free sports physicials will be provided on this day as well. Also players will be involved with our major fundraiser right after morning practice.

Mandatory Practices Start Tomorrow For All Teams

Reminder; Mandatory conditioning each morning this week from 8am-9:30am. Teams may finish earlier.

Mandatory offense and defense practice in the afternoon each day this week from 4pm-6pm. This is a change from the web calendar.

We need YOU!!

We have only A FRACTION of the people we need signed up to volunteer to work at Freshmen, JV, and Varsity games. It takes over 100 volunteers to make a football season work. Its quick and easy to sign up. Just go to www.cvraiderfootball.com and click on VOLUNTEERS at the top of the page. Then select the team games you wish to work at and sign up for specific games and tasks. The new online system will send you reminders of your commitments. It is best if you sign up for the entire season now. That way you can be assured you will get the job you want. We are requiring ALL parents of players to volunteer at least once so sign up early.

Football Conditioning All Teams Starts Next Week

Football Conditioning starts next Monday, August 9th for all teams. 8am-9:30am at CV. This is an optional week however all players are strongly encouraged to attend.

CV Cheerleader Fundraiser. Football Players please help.

The CV cheerleaders will be hosting a booth at the Benton County Fair August 4-7th. They will have a dunk tank as part of their fund raising event and would like CV Football players to participate. Voluteers Needed

The 2010 CV Raider Football Season is upon us!!! It takes over 100 volunteers to make the season run smoothly. We need EVERY parent to volunteer for at least one event. We need immediate assistance getting the CV Football Field prepped for the season. If you are interested in helping you can sign up on the website or contact Tim Kinkade at tim.kinkade@gmail.com. Freshmen and sophomore parents who are interested in learning how to prep the field are strongly encouraged to sign up.

Football Clinic Tomorrow

Tomorrow, 6/19/2010, Portland State Football Staff will be at CV to put on a football clinic from 9am-4pm. The cost is $40. However no player will be turned away due to finances. All players are encouraged to attend.

Important Practice Information

Practice today is for those going to OSU camp only. We will wear helmets and shoulder pads.

Also, practice tomorrow is at 1:15 after school. again only for those going to OSU camp.

Lastly, those who still need to register for camp need to get the registration form and check for $180.00 back to me at thursday practice.

Practice moved to Truax!

It is official, we are in the Truax at 3:45 today and tomorrow! All players should wear bring cleats shorts, and shirts.

Truax is the indoor football practice facility on OSU Campus behind Reeser Stadium.

2010 Raider Football Season Is Here!! Important Information.

Registration for the 2010 Football Season is this Saturday May 22nd from 9am-noon in the CVHS cafeteria. This registration is for all football teams; Freshmen, JV, and Varsity. If you your student is interested in playing football you should register this Saturday.



1. You will be asked to fill out several forms at registration. These forms are available on the team website at www.cvraiderfootball.com/athleteresources.html . These forms are also available on the CVHS website under athletics. You may fill these out ahead of time to speed up registration.



2. You will NOT need to pay the $150 CV Athletic fee at registration. You will pay this fee in the fall when football practices start. You will need to be prepared to pay for optional items such as shoes and gloves, which will be available to purchase. There will be a locker deposit this year due to the fact that many players did not clean out their lockers last year. This fee will be held and only deposited in the event that your son does not clean out his football locker at the end of season.



3. All players are being encouraged to attend the OSU Team Football Camp. Please sign up online by clicking on the link.



4. All parents of football players are being asked to volunteer time to the team this year. We cannot do it without you. We are using an easy-to-use volunteer sign up system on our team website. This system will allow you to sign up for a single job or multiple jobs per game. If every parent volunteered for just one of the jobs listed we would have everything covered! Please click on this link.

5. Make sure you are "in the know" for all things CV Raider Football by signing up for the team email list and text messages. You may sign up for either or both of these great services on the team's official website: www.cvraiderfootball.com.

6. On the team website is a calendar of events that will (by tonight) have the game schedules and locations as well as other important football team dates.
